Not that I really think it's too much of a problem, I got used to it, but I do think I was tripped up by the down button being an *overhead* attack. You're swinging the sword over your head onto the opponent, it's not typically described as "down" like you're saying. Though moving the overhead to the up button would force the thrust to be the down button, which probably isn't much better. It's just preference I suppose. Fun game nonetheless.

love how there is no guidence exept for the little help before a run! no typing matchups or cheatsheet make it a lot more fun to figure it out yourself and it feels so rewarding to get past the first enemy. great game you got here!
each enemy has an element and a physical structure. all of them will look different and shape of body can tell you what slash to use. element can tell you what element of yours to use. if you need a cheatsheet i think i figured it out a bit :D
Basically.. what I figured: Green(earth-use lightning ). Frost(fire) Purple(use Holy) and Metal use lightning. Based on shapes use attack. (Upper wedge- Overhead cleaver, Six pack shit- plummet, side wedge- side attack, no wedge- thrust)

No idea how I'm supposed to play this lol. There's 4*4=16 possible combination, and enemies is random every time. Looks cool tho

You can actually use any element on a green enemy, they're just supposed to be generic monsters
